Bridgwater’s new link road Squibbers Way will open to the public next week. Somerset County Council is working with main contractor Whitemountain and Bridgwater Carnival to organise a mini squibbing display to celebrate the road’s link to Bridgwater’s famous tradition.

The short opening ceremony will start at 6pm on Monday 16 December on the new Crossways Bridge (the second of the bridges on Squibbers Way).  Join us there from 5.30pm to decorate yourself and your bicycle and be part of the Glow Ride that follows Bridgwater Carnival’s Squibbers – you will be amongst the first to cycle the new road!

Bring along your decorated bicycle or use the colourful lights and decor that we will provide to help make you glow. Walkers and scooters are also welcome.

To book your place on the Glow Ride please email: TBW@sustrans.org.uk.

Participants will need to be confident cyclists using a bike in good working order with front and rear lights.
