The Bridgwater Way’s recent virtual Easter egg hunt proved a huge success with communities in Bridgwater and North Petherton.

We invited communities in North Petherton, Stockmoor and Wilstock to take part in the hunt which was similar in design to the Pokemon Go phenomenon.

Families and children were encouraged to search out hidden eggs in local parks with the help of the BetterPoints App – a free Smartphone App through which they earn points and prizes for travelling actively.

So many took part in the hunt around local parks that 246 miles were collectively walked over 230 journeys throughout the event!

The Grand prize worth £200 has been awarded to Claire B and family from Stockmoor Village – Congratulations!

She has won the following prize bundle:

  • 1 Year family membership for the National Trust
  • £30 Cinema Voucher
  • £50 Prezzo Voucher

Claire was over the moon to be picked as the Grand Prize winning family. The family went out on many walks together during the challenge and incorporated a visit to one of the participating parks each time..  They walked over 18 miles during 22 journeys and collected over 3,000 BetterTickets.

Here is what Claire said when she found out about winning the grand prize:

“As a family we have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in The Bridgwater Way’s  Virtual Egg Hunt. We generally go to the park most days (if the weather allows). The app encouraged us to go to parks we have never been to before.

“The children loved running around finding all the eggs, especially Mr Gold! We loved the fact that prizes were for all the family to enjoy, the National Trust Membership pass will encourage us explore the rest of the country.”

Well done to everyone that took part in the Easter Egg Hunt. We do hope your families enjoyed finding all the items and earning BetterPoints for all your activities.
