The Bridgwater-wide Schools Challenge launched this week!   The challenge, runs until 11 October and encourages active travel and reduced car use to school.

Each day, pupils will record how they travelled to school and are awarded points – with active travel options like walking, scooting and cycling to school scoring the most points.  Participating schools are: Eastover, Northgate, North Petherton, Somerset Bridge, St John and St Francis, St Josephs, St Marys, Wembdon St George’s and Westover Green.

This year, to add that extra element of competitive spirit we have created a handy leaderboard that shows where your child’s school is placed!  A cash prize of £750 will be awarded to the winning school and the most improved school.

Good luck to all schools taking part – if your child attends one of these schools, join in the conversation and share your active pictures on social media with the hashtag #TBWSchoolsChallenge.
