Maybe you’d like to leave your car at home and cycle to the shops, saving on parking costs and reducing your carbon footprint. Or perhaps you’re keen to get out with the family at the weekend for some fresh air.

Whatever your way, plan your route and reap the benefits of being more active.

If you live in Hamp, here are two routes you could walk or cycle:

WALKING FROM HAMP TO WORK

Do you work near Parrett Way? Leave your car at home and avoid the traffic.

From Showground Roundabout, walk up Taunton Road and cross over at the toucan crossing (just after Stockmoor Close).

Head down the path and along Hamp Bridge.

Turn left and cross over Squibbers Way and continue along Parrett Way to work.

CYCLING FROM HAMP TO TOWN VIA CANAL

Heading to town from the Stockmoor/ Hamp area? Try leaving the car at home and cycling this route instead.

From the Showground Road Roundabout, take the cycle path which runs alongside Taunton Road.

After you cross Wills Road, use the next crossing you come to and access the canal towpath, which is part of National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 3.

Follow the NCN Route 3 signs into the Town Centre leaving the canal towpath at Old Taunton Road and following the route into Blake Gardens using the Broadway underpass.
